A Day to Fly

Hi. Remember me? Yeah, this is just a little notice, to those of you who were wondering, that I am actually alive. College has just been a bitch to me and really drained me of any creativity to do for myself. If you've read my last journal entry, you've probably guessed that my self-esteem as an artist hasn't been great lately and I've been feeling really depressed because of it. But, I'm a little better now and I've decided not to let words get to me.

But enough about me, this drawing was inspired by my nostalgia when I was watching the Disney version of The Hunchback of Notre Dame. I've always loved the image of Quasimodo encouraging the little bird to fly in the beginning of the movie. It's a simple moment, but it's somehow really touching to me. In a way, I kind of felt like that little bird who just needed the encouragement to fly. I think that both Quasi and Esme feel the same sometimes, so I depicted them both in this picture.
