The Red Room

It’s been a while since I’ve done some Brontë art, hasn’t it? I’ve wanted to take on the famous red room scene in Jane Eyre for a while but could never figure out the framing. Eventually, I worked it out. Originally, I was going to add in Uncle Reed’s ghost à la Crimson Peak but it didn’t work, so I decided to go for subtle. 

Oh, and I calculated the year of Uncle Reed’s death by Jane’s age, the year the book was published, and when he likely died, since the book never really specifies that...at least, I don’t think it does. Correct me if I’m wrong and if I am, oops.
