The Weight Of My World

This is another expressive painting that took me hours to finish. It was worth it!

The skirt that weighs me down is made up of everything that makes me who I am: my loves, my losses, my artwork, my beliefs and my heritage. My loves are represented by the love letters that come from past and present partners, my losses are represented by the four skulls (two cats, a dog and a relative), my artwork is represented by the paintings and supplies, my beliefs are represented by the rosary from my Catholic family and the pentacle in my Wiccan hand and my heritage is represented by the English moors that morph into the Canadian maple leaves.

Regardless of everything that weighs me down, I hold my head up high.
